Majestic!!!

Well, all this started bcos of me and my husband's decision to watch a film. We first went to Forum being very well knowing the probability of getting tickets are less. We chose to go there first, bcos that film 'Mungaaru Male' which we wanted to watch was in very few theatres near our house and my husband thought it was quiet secure and safe in Forum than all others for various reasons. When we went to Forum, and parked our vehicle with great difficulty, as expected the tickets were sold out. Out of same great difficulty we took our vehicle back and paid parking fees and headed towards Majestic to goto Sagar. Now this theatre was chosen bcos, it was lil close to ur house and thought we can goto night show as it was already around 5.

Near Sagar, we found a parking near by, we walked some distance to reach theatre. By the time we reached it was 6:15. To our dismay the tickets for 7:30 show was sold out. We were actually astonished as we hardly any ppl near theatre but ticket being sold and there were not many waiting around also... But since, we had made up our mind to see a kannada film and help an kannada producer and show our 'Kannada abhimana', we started looking for black tickets. A guy came to us and offered 100Rs/ticket. We felt it was more and after a lil bargaining he said 90Rs is last and there are ppl behind to buy tickets and told we wud be in heavy loss if we do not buy ticket right then. We consoled ourselves that if we were to pay in theatre of Forum the ticket wud be even more and this is cheaper!!! My husband asked him for balcony tickets and he said since ladies are there with u(But I was the only one with my husband ... ;) ) I will give u a corner seat!!! Waa....ah, he was going to get a corner seat of balcony for a black ticket!!! My husband generously took out a 500 note and handed it to him . We were expecting him to give ticket immeaditaely. After taking the note he started searching tickets from his colleagues(??!!) We were watching him briskly moving and asking everyone for a ticket with a stun. We were murmuring and were discussing how the ticket counter ppl also wud hav involved with these guys to have sold all the tickets very early, that this guy is offering a corner seat for us. And how police men wud be blindly walking through them and having share in all these scandals...

To our astonishment in no time the man went to the other side of theatre and 2 men next to us called us and said he is going behind the building and warned us that we better follow him to get back the money at least!!! We started running behind that man in front of the theatre!! He went behind the building and there was barricade which is opened only for the employees there. He went inside passing that. There were hardly any ppl there and we also crossed the barricade... He went to two three windows and his face expression said he did not get the corner seat tickets... I was giggling at that guy for overreacting and getting into trouble. Now he again came to the front gate of the theatre and we had made a circle around the building. It was actually embrassing for us to run behind him and that guy was not stopping anywhere properly, to ask our money back ... After asking almost everyone he called us and asked us to hold money and said not to follow him and he wud get tickets himself. We stood their waiting with a sort of relief of getting atleast the money back... The guy after many moving around he got us two tickets. My hubby being completed his college in this area and had experiences of paying for previous day's tickets once, started with the checking. We checked the date, film, seat number in the ticket and then handed him money. That stupid guy said he found a corner seat for us in difficulty ...

Since, there was still time left for the show in spite of all these run abouts, we decided to eat something in Kamat near by. When eating dosa's there, we remembered our parents. When we called them, they said some good words for not having come to theatre in time and now spending so much amount on tickets...for having come to 7:30 show in winter....etc :(

But since we already had tickets and there was nothing in this world to stop us from watching film. We entered theatre and started searching for the rows from balcony. We went walking forward reading the row number and believe me when we found our row we were just few rows from the screen. It was Gandhi Class. The seat was in the middle of the row and and not a corner one too... We were pissed off and I started grumbling for having believed that bugger. But more we get pissed off less we cud enjoy film. Since past was past, I sat looking around the 'types of ppl' around me. We saw a family of 5 were two women where continuously scolding some one. When asked they said some guy took money from them saying they wud giv balcony tickets and a corner seat and he made them sit here. They wud have preferred to have not seeing the film ... --- ... When we asked how much they paid, the ladies said 100Rs/ticket. I was surprised (In a way overjoyed) to hear there were more bakra's than us.
I dont know still how many who watched the film that day or every week end wud be betrayed like this and are sent in to watch film!!!

Though there are many places where things like this happens, I feel this area of Bangalore is a good school of teaching about 'life' ... A guy who spends some ten years of his life here will come to see all the bad faces of life I guess, especially cheating ... It is same from 1970's I believe. I have proof from Mayor Muttana film(of 1970's) dialogue where a character says he is living in Majestic from 20 years and he knows everything. Bottom line of all the betrayals is the negligence of the other party. Inspite of knowing all the theories, at some time of life we end up learning a lesson from incidents like this... :)
But since the film is good, the photography is excellent, songs are good and the film is still running after 50 days, for anyone who asked us if we saw film, how much we paid ...questions, we say we paid 90Rs for Gandhi class and there was a rush that day ...etc stories (Just to cover our stupidity ;-))
