Wanted to tell u a story about a nation whose major income is from tourism. I was there for less than a week and it was my first flight out of my cosy nest(home) and from my nation. I wanted to bring in front of you the contradictions I saw there. The people there had embraced the Buddhist culture, which speaks of ahimsa but more than 90% ppl are non veg and country is famous for sea foods... Thier religion asks to treat fellow human beings, even animals respectfully. But since their source of income is tourism, the young women there are traded for money to attract foreign tourists and are looked at even worse than animals. :( I made this statement bcos, I saw an 'budda'(old) guy of west talking to a girl. We cud make out that he is fixing a rate for her bcos that street we went for walking is famous for it... He was holding her shoulders and testing her parts of body b4 he cud fix a rate. The girl stood there with a tarnished face not being able to protest. :-( We saw teenaged girls on the street trying to present themselves glamourous n attract ppl... We had a professional tourist guide accompanied us in the journey for two days, who knew what to show and how to attract tourists. When we were done with all the water sports and were asking her for something else which we cud see in her country - She mentioned us about a dance show taking place near by at night. We asked what type of dance it was she said it was all girls naked dance!!! We gave a surprised look, maybe she thought we did not understood her language... So she repeated 'Naked Naked full non-veg!!!'
But, at the same time I did not find any beggars in that small city which was crowded with tourists more than localites, unlike our country. :( I know in our country, we have both prostitutes and beggars ... :( Will come back later to share many things about this first foreign tour of me...
